Beecher City
The village is named for Charles Beecher, vice president of the Springfield Division of the former Ohio and Mississippi Railroad. It was platted in 1872. Beecher City was once a flourishing village with lots of energy and industry. It is located in Liberty Township.

Edgewood
The village of Edgewood was surveyed and platted for the Illinois Central Railroad in 1857 and was incorporated in 1869. The Springfield Division of the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad crossed the Illinois Central line. Edgewood received its name from the numerous trees in the area. It is located in Mason Township.
